Blackberry and Apple Crumble

I love this time of year where the Blackberries are around and best of all free the only problem is you always get thorns and cuts trying to pick these yummy berries but all of this pain is so worth it.

300g blackberries

300g cooking apples

30g of butter

for the crumble

150g plain flour

30g almonds ground

50g golden faster sugar

50g butter

Place the apples and blackberries into a large pan and add 1 tbsp of water and 1tbsp of caster sugar allow to soften down for a good 10 minutes then add them to suitable tin / dish place the butter in blobs all over the blackberry and apple mixture.

Prepare the crumble by adding the flour, almonds, and butter to a bel and rub together to make breadcrumbs then add the sugar and stir altogether pour the crumble mixture onto the blackberry mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180’c for around 30 mins or until golden serve with warm custard of ice cream.
